IPL 2026 Complete Match Schedule
The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League runs from 28 March to 31 May 2026, featuring 74 matches across 13 venues. Royal Challengers Bengaluru defend their maiden title won in 2025 against nine hungry franchises, each rebuilt following the December 2025 mega auction.
BCCI released the schedule in two phases due to state assembly elections. The opening match features defending champions RCB hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 28 March. Weekend double-headers create packed matchdays throughout April and May.
Tournament Format
Ten teams are split into two groups. Each team plays once against teams in their own group and twice against teams in the opposite group, producing 14 matches per franchise and 70 league-stage fixtures. Four additional playoff matches complete the 74-match schedule.
The top four teams after the league stage qualify for playoffs. First and second play Qualifier 1, with the winner advancing directly to the final on 31 May. Third and fourth contest the Eliminator, with the winner facing the Qualifier 1 loser in Qualifier 2. This system rewards consistency across the full league stage.
